A local, family-run mover for your move across state lines
Better Choice Moving is based at 420 Station Rd in Quakertown, PA. We serve families and businesses across Bucks County, Montgomery County and the Philadelphia suburbs, and when the next home is a few states away, we bring the same care we bring to a move across town.
A long distance move has more moving parts than a local one: more time on the road, more handling, tighter delivery windows and often a gap between closing on one home and getting the keys to the next. Our job is to take that weight off you. We start with a detailed walkthrough of your home, build an inventory, plan the packing and the truck, and give you a clear written quote with no guesswork. On move day our uniformed crews wrap and pad furniture before it moves, load the truck carefully, and keep you updated until everything is placed in your new home.
Whether you are retiring to the coast, starting a new job in another city, moving on military orders or getting closer to family, we treat your move like it matters, because it does.

Tips for a smoother interstate move
- Book early. Summer and month end fill up first, so lock your dates as soon as you know them.
- Sort before you pack. Every item you sell, donate or toss is one less item to ship.
- Measure the new place. Large sectionals and dressers may not fit, and it is cheaper to decide now than at delivery.
- Pack a first night box. Medications, chargers, documents, a change of clothes and basic kitchen items should ride with you.
- Plan for a gap. If your closing dates do not line up, ask about storage so you are not paying for a rushed move.

Long distance and interstate moving questions
Do you handle interstate moves out of Pennsylvania?
Yes. We plan and run long distance and interstate moves for families and businesses starting in Bucks County, Montgomery County and the Philadelphia suburbs, and we also help people moving into the area from out of state. Call 215-622-8140 with your origin, destination and timing and we will tell you right away how we can help.
How is the cost of a long distance move figured out?
Interstate moves are priced on the size of your shipment, the distance, packing needs, access at both homes (stairs, elevators, long carries) and your dates. We do not post one size fits all prices because every home is different. Instead we walk through your home in person, by video or over the phone and give you a free written quote so you know what to expect before you book.
How far ahead should I book an interstate move?
Four to eight weeks ahead is ideal, and earlier is better for summer and the end of the month, when demand is highest. If your timeline is shorter, call anyway. We will be honest about what is possible for your dates.
Who actually handles my belongings?
Uniformed Better Choice movers pack, wrap and load your home. We do not send day labor. Before you book, we explain exactly how your shipment travels and who delivers it, so there are no surprises on the other end.
Can you store my things if my new home is not ready yet?
Yes. Closings slip and new builds run late. We can hold your belongings in vault storage at our Quakertown warehouse at 420 Station Rd and then deliver when your new home is ready.
Do you offer packing for long distance moves?
Yes, full or partial packing. Long distance shipments travel farther and get handled more, so good packing matters. We can pack the whole house, just the kitchen and fragile items, or provide white glove handling for artwork, antiques and high value pieces.
What should I do with things I do not want to move?
Moving less saves money on a long distance move. Before move day we can haul away furniture and household items you are not taking, and we route usable items to donation whenever we can.
Do you help with military PCS moves and work relocations?
Yes. If you are relocating on military orders or for a new job, share your report date or start date and any relocation guidelines from your employer, and we will build the move plan around them and give you itemized paperwork for your records.
What items cannot go on the moving truck?
For safety, movers cannot transport hazardous materials such as propane tanks, gasoline, paint, cleaning chemicals, fireworks and ammunition. Plan to carry important documents, medications, jewelry and other valuables with you. Some states also restrict moving live plants, so ask us if you have a collection.
How do I get a free long distance moving quote?
Call 215-622-8140 or use our quote form. Have your current address, destination city, approximate home size and target move date handy and we will take it from there.
